Hi Krystle,
I am waiting to try bodyvive at the quarterly on March 3rd in MD. If I like it I will consider training in it. You'll have to let me know how the training goes! What other LM classes do you teach?

I will! My GFM went to a master class on friday, I have not been in touch with her but I would like to know how it went.
I teach bodystep, and hopefully bodyattack eventually. What do you teach??
Hey does anyone know what colors are going to be for bodyvive cloths? is it light purple and black?

Rock on! I bet she liked it. I had a member today that was new to bodystep during my class... she said our gym should have more classes for older people, so I think it is so important that we get a class like this. Bless her heart though, she rocked during step, and always kept moving and stuck it out even though I could tell she was pooped:) She was probably in her late 50's or early 60's

That's pretty impressive! Bodystep is a real tough workout! I think that bodyvive will be a huge succes at my gym too! There is definately a need for a class like this. I can't wait to try it on March 3rd.

Cool! Thanks! They had the CUTEST light purple cargo/ capri pants at the store, I must go buy them now...hehehe:) I talked to my GFM last night, she said she enjoyed the class, and that it will be good for members who are just starting out as well, and who are intimidated by the harder more advanced classes. I think overall it will be a huge sucess, but hey, we will have to wait and see!!! Looking forward to the quarterly!

The training was really fun, educational and went pretty quickly (3 continuous full days)
As there are 3 components to the class (Heart Fitness, Functional Strength, and Core & Restore) each day was dedicated to one component.
The first night we were allocated both our Heart Fitness and Functional strength tracks and had to have them learned by the next day. We presented Heart Fitness first up in the morning and had time to work on the second one to present later in the day.
Day 3 we did the theory for Core & Restore and once again, presented that track (just before lunch)
The afternoon went so quickly as we were allocated 2 hours for our challenge: To organise a launch for our first Body Vive class, who was doing what tracks, who would be on stage and doing what, and any 'fitness magic' like the whole group doing the same move as the speaker during the into on a selected word i.e. when she says 'fizzing' we all shimmied our shoulders, plus a quick room decoration. There were a few 'moments' where the dominant people clashed but hey, it's a roomful of instructors! In the end we were very excited and it all went smoothly, no major blunders and THE MEMBERS LOVED IT!!! It was a huge relief and we were really proud that we got it together in such a short time.
The first day at the trainer's masterclass I was thinking - how simple, I shouldn't have too much trouble with this but once you really look into it properly there is so much more to it. Quite a few new things to learn that I hadn't in other programs - body positioning, vocal feels, lots of little stuff that all creates the atmosphere.
So guys, next time you go to a Body Vive class and it looks easy and you are having heaps of fun (because you just do!), understand that a lot of detail goes into creating that party.
It was pretty weird to go to a training of a class I had never done until the first day and knew very little about, to teaching and shadowing the whole thing by the third day.
I'll need a few days to digest it all propely and then start into the learning of the full class and lots and lots of mirror work.
Because there are no qualified people yet at our club we have to team teach with each other before we go it alone and then send in our video in 3 months.
There's probably a lot of things I missed out telling you but please ask questions. Would I recommend the training? Yes! It's going to be big.
p.s. will put a few pics in gallery when I get time shortly
".......during the intoon a selected word...."
of course that should read INTRO
I forgot one fun thing. At the end of day 1 we all secretly drew a name of another trainee and for day 2 we had to be their 'angel' and as our mortal we had to do nice things for them - just be helpful and kind (without making it too obvious) , or buy them a little trinket (totally optional of course), words of encouragement, a little note of congratulations on good work slipped into their belongings...that kind of thing. Was pretty cute and we chose not to reveal on day 3 - kept it more special. Nice exercise in creating group togetherness.
