saw that video ages ago but wasn't sure if I should post it here because I thought it might be a 'secret' thing. But looks good!

well... you aren’t the intended target sunshine, but the again…
everybody should and could enjoy bodyvivi right.. :-D

hell I’m the only bodyshaper in my gym and loving it… :D/

come to think of it.. bodyvivi would also be a great LM introduction class for
people who don’t sport at all, and/or, are over weight…

all in all.. this will probably be another successful LM class

It will be massive in my club. We have the ideal demographic. I don't see why younger/fitter people wouldn't enjoy the class as well though. It looks like heaps of fun - lots of variety with the balls and bands and the team work. I'm sure you could come out of a class feeling really worked out if you put a lot into it. I am really looking forward to seeing it. About time we had another option for our older members and potential members who are deconditioned, injured etc. Brilliant! =D^

Would like to see Les Mills place an age restriction on Instructors teaching this release to 40 + > if they see a 20 + someone teaching it then it is just another Les Mills program.

A 20 year old does not know how a 40 + > bodymoves and what is achievable and possible at the age group identified they are trying to get back to do the programs.

Thats a personal viewpoint but the 40 + need to have a program for us and targets our age group and thats how I see it as I am in the demographic they are targeting.

IMHO! :) always :)

Well trust me, as much as it looks a great program, I really can't see someone my age instructing BodyVive...I certainly won't be anytime in the near future.

that's why they do training in special populations. they WILL know by the end of it.

You can train in special populations granted Mel but no one knows what it is like to be a 40 > person until they are there :)

The whole program is targeted at the 40 > population (Baby Boomers Generation X etc who have be disfanchised from main stream aerobics.) if they see someone in their 20's teaching it they might get more disfranchised from the whole process.

I am looking forward to seeing the new program :)

Although it is taregeted at 40+ age bracket, you will still find that it will be marketed as a "low impact class" in which many people no matter what age will attend. In fact, it may be a good class for teenagers to begin with...the use of balls and resistance bands will also create hype for the first couple of months with ALL participants. I can't wait to try it at our quarterly next year, and heck I may actually enjoy it...:o

I think that there are younger instructors who will teach a great class! But then again there are many who prolly wont quite fit the bill. But this is seen throughout most of the programmes anyway.

I think limiting instructors to age 40+ is ridiculous, honestly.

People who have never been pregnant still teach pregnant participants.
I teach males in my classes, and not once have I experienced what it feels like to be a boy.

The class isn't even limited to as set age bracket. It may be targeted at the 40+ age group, but I am sure many others will attend and enjoy it.

I am only 23 and I would consider instructing it.
When you are up there teaching it is about your participants, not you.

I have no idea how half my class feels when I teach step. I can try and guess, but really, it is only a guess.

I think you underestimante peoples ability, incate.

I think it will be important in how the programme is marketed. I agree with AussieSteppa that it would be an excellent programme for teenagers and those new to group fitness, and other special populations (those teenagers can't keep up to a near 40-year old me in BP or cycling! :D/ -this comes as we do fitness class intros with one of the neighbourhood high schools). I think it has something to offer for everyone and like all the other programmes we offer, we have to continue to focus on being inclusive vs. exclusive-for both members and instructors.

In saying this I meant it specifically in relation to myself. I agree with the following, that a younger person may suit the program extremely well too!!!

Hell, I am the only male, 17 year old instructor of BodyStep in Australia! And i think my class results show that I'm a damn good instructor too!

Special, I agree. My whole class is normally full of women, and at least two weeks in a month there will be a pregnant woman in my class. I have and never will understand what it is to be like a woman or a pregnant woman at that.

The only people that we know and understand are ourselves. Each individual has different and specific needs, we as Les Mills instructors are there to guide them through the program, and each release. We are accepting of anyone no matter what age, phsyical condition, gender, race or sexuality. We see people through their weekest hour, we are the lucky ones that can change someone's life, and we feel the success of a transformation in a person. Not just anybody has that special privilege that we do, only the special talented and passionate individuals. If there is a 17 year old that can teach BodyVive in the essence then what it should be, and 'creates life changing fitness experiences" and a 40 year old that knows how a 40 year old moves, and teaches poorly. Then I'm for the 17 year old, the better instructor.

Thats all I really have to say!

Oh I am in Generation X not a Baby Boomer :) they need to create a program specially for us :)

I read. I understood.

I still think the idea of restricting Instructors for this program to 40+ is silly.

Do you honestly think that no one under the age of 40 could teach this class well?

This is starting to sound like age discrimination! LOL...

I think it is dependent upon the instructors personality - if they are able to connect with the class - then age shouldnt matter...

They just need to have a mature mind!!! :-)

I guess if no one under 40 is allowed to teach bodyvive, then that would mean nobody over 40 can teach attack
