Here's a chance to share inspirational, funny, feeling and emotional cues.

I like the one off of the BP51 video where that guy says:

"this is where you're making the change"

Image a tiny, but powerfull female instructor.

Bp release 51.

Track biceps.

Getting to the last 24 singles.

Instructor:'hey let's do 32, come on'

And we worked, moaned, yelled, groaned, sufferd,...BUT most of us did those extra 8.... 8)

Instructor:' OK, those who have done those extra 8, will add an extra kg-plate next time....'

I won't be fooled again..

Womens... all the same.

One of our female instructors (a really really cute girl :D ) always told us at the end of the 51's biceps track : "One more, just for me !"

And it always works !

This one makes me laugh.......for the shoulder track:

"This is the shoulder track, for this one you need a bar, a couple of weights, and a set of shoulders......"

I make them shake their bottom (ass) in the biceps song, 2 times, at the beginning with the scartching noise, when the bar is on the top.

To slow them down when they're going too quick, I say:

One of my favorites to motivate the men in the chest tracks is "no pecs, no sex, right, ladies?" :P

Here's something I've been using for a little while now with huge sucess so far :D

For those participants that won't use weight in lunges, I tell them:

"Lunges hurt, it's a fact of life. Lunges hurts WITH weight, and they still hurt WITHOUT weight..........so seeing as it's gonna hurt anyway, let's stick some weight on that bar!!!!"

I just don´t get it really! Somebody just tell me! Why, oh Why is that, when it comes to lunges, people usually who makes squats with heavy weights, won´t be able to do heavy on lunges.....cause the balance or something...? I make squats witn 12,5kg on each side and lunges on 10kg on each side...

Usually in track 2 you have not pre-exhausted your rectus femoris  (quads) etc. Then by track 7 there is some recovery (Lactic Acid.) etc..

Ideally one should be able to lift the same weight as squats. I do occasionallythats a treat.

Hope this helps?

I dunno, my quads are pretty wrecked after squats. No way will I ever use the same weights, not even close.

Here is a good resourse article from BTS...

namaste's link is great, but also to add to that, there's some distinct differences between squats and lunges:

1) lunges are near the end of the class when you are already getting fatigued

and

2) squats use both legs, as well as incorporate hip flexors and glutes, whereas lunges isolatiate the quad in ONE leg, and the tension is more concentrated in the quad.

We are explicit encouraged to do the lunges with the same weights as the squats.

And yes, they trick us every time again with the 'more balance' crap

Maybe redundant but not every release is fit for this concept...auch..

I like that one Mel :D  I still rarely use weights on lunges.  Maybe I need a better Instructor ;)

LOL! Just imagining a participant putting weights on the bar, proceeding with 3-legged lunges and saying "Wow, that really was tougher!"

I am glad I am home alone.  I laughed a lot at that mental image.

OT - I have never liked 3 legged lunges.
