I went to the BS quarterly twice... and both times they didn't give any inspirational cues... the trainers gave just technical ques instead of the combi... How come? :S

thats really bizzare, maybe they were trying to emphasise the new focus on coaching rather than instructing, but it doesnt mean in ANY WAY that u eliminate creative cueing. in should still be there in ur followup phases
trust frank, frank knows.

My club uses a lot of inspirational cues to remind people of why they're actually in the step class. When you're doing track 9 or 10 and getting tired, it can be difficult as a member to find that drive to really push and drive the movements. I say things like "c'mon, push it, this is where we make a difference in our bodies" or "this is your final power peak, give it everything you've got, these next 5 minutes are your last chance to change your body, so I want to see you sweating your butt off!" One thing that my trainer taught me that I think is really important is to make sure that your cues and your language mimic that of the tone of the track that you're teaching. So when I teach fighter, I'm not always trying to say words of inspiration, some times all I need to get people fired up is to give a grunt when I throw that punch, and get them to do it as well. Good luck with it, I hope I've helped!
I want to come and take YOUR class!!! You sound like you are really World Class.
I can't believe someone asked "do you actually scirpt". I make my team script or they don't launch or teach. It is their homework.
Have a great day. If you are ever in Orlando Fl.. come by and see us.

"Give me all you've got! I know CPR and how to use the AED."
Tried that one last night with a slight variation: "It's OK to push harder, I know CPR" – it was hilarious! Thanks for sharing it.
I am always looking for good motivational cues so keep 'em coming! And funny, I love *trying* to be funny so please pass those on too.
Here are some of my favorites:
You've got one workout, make it this one!
Let's go, team! (all the "team" stuff is really motivating, I think)
Write your name on this one!
Come on, athletes, show me what you're made of!
Happy stepping,
Jen

BS 71 is a great one for pulling cues out of the lyrics! Seems to be more so in this one than other releases although there is always lots of great things to say based on the music.
