Okay, just for fun, instructors and participants alike...

What is the track that makes you want to just pass out, or throw up in?

For me, it's got to be "Tubthumping" - track 4 of BA65. I have all these grand ideas about 'expanding' on the chorey cues and giving great motivational cues. But the reality is, I can still only just cue this track and throw in one or two motivational cues, without feeling like I want to lie down in a foetal position with my thumb in my mouth!

Yeah :(

I had a participant that hasn't been to the gym in 3mths due to a work injury, so of course he's missed all the PPCA drama. Saw him last night, and he wants to bring his new wife to my Attack class next week. He asked me if I could PLEASE play the "Hairspray" song as it was one of his favourites. Not so much the song, but the chorey, and the fact that the whole class would just "let go" and dance. It was pretty saddening for me to tell him that we couldn't do it any longer and why.

Even worse, he then asked if I could do "Chocolat" instead :(

No, because I don't have the original CD, and the gym is getting tough on copying. I would hate to put another instructor in the poo.

Do you mean the PPCA issue? Not sure which country you are from, but we have had a 6 year long legal battle in Australia over royalty licensing. The PPCA wanted to raise the fee from I think it was 97c per class (capped at around $2600 per year) up to $30 per class with no cap. The copyright tribunal awarded $15 per class, however Fitness Australia and other organisations such as Fitness First fought, and won, bringing the fees back down to around $2.50 per class.

It meant that for a period of time many gyms refused to pay a licence, so this meant using royalty free music. Les Mills produced a special CD for instructors who worked at these gyms, however it meant no more back releases :(

Not sure whether gyms like Fitness First have gone back to paying the royalties now that the cost has been reduced?
