Hi All,
I've got my RPM initial training this weekend in Sydney (anyone else going???). Anyone got any suggestions for surviving the weekend (apart from buckets of gatorade?) I've been shadowing my RPM instructor for the last 2 months once or twice a week but I'm still a little worried about my fitness level (even though my instructor assures me I'll be fine).

This is my first LM course (first time in anything to do with Fitness instruction really!.. I'm doing my G-E-L at the same time)

Cheers

Jules

Hi Jules, Some suggestions

1. use proper knicks. With that amount of time on the bike you will appreciated the difference
2. eat plenty of food
3. drink plenty of water
4. take changes of clothing and change regularly. I took 4 sets of lycra each day
5. if possible try to learn some RPM45 choreography prior
6. ensure that on the Saturday night that you have no commitments and no distractions as you need that time to learn your track. Send the Hubby and kids away somewhere :)

Which gym is the training to happen at?

Cheers,
Michael

Thanks for the tips Michael!

I've been riding RPM45 since my gym released it in December last year at least twice a week so I've got the basics of the chorey ingrained with the music. It's just a matter of remembering what comes next (with which bit of the song!)

We're training at Fitness First in Market St Sydney, bit of a hike from home in the Blue Mountains, but alas, drivings' gonna be way better than catching the train at 5am in the morning.. ICK.

Knicks - I don't really own any, I sense a quick trip to Rebel happening tomorrow evening before combat, pity they're so darned expensive. I will however be taking half my gym wardrobe with me, one can never have too many changes when you sweat like I do!

Hopefully if all goes well I'll be home alone Saturday night, trying to organise Hubby to go visit his parents so I can have the house to myself - I feel the need to cram some corey!

Market st is one of my hangouts, the seats are female friendly and are in reasonable condition.

Knicks can be brought at a reasonable price, but not at such short notice. If possible buy female kincks as there are some small variations in the shape of the pad to male ones.

You'll be able to study the chirography for your allocated track on the train, so the journey too/from the blue mountains won't be wasted time.

All the best

I hope your training goes well. Wear padded bike shorts, preferably BOTH DAYS of training. I remember that day 1 went seeming well, then day 2, I sat on my bike and OUCH OUCH OUCH - I had to drop my seat a notch or 2. Whoa did that hurt.

Bring plenty of snacks! O:)

Good luck and HAVE FUN!

ZOMG what a day!! Masterclass was awesome, learnt heaps in technique, race of truth was insane...

Oh and I can still walk... mostly.

Didn't get the change to get padded bike shorts so the gel seat is gonna have to do for tomorrow. I'm doing track 5 which I'm madly trying to learn now...

Will let you know how I go!

My legs and my butt are disowning me right now though, not gonna walk the same for a week.

Awesome experience and one I'll never forget!

I'm gonna try and get on the workshops in Sydney (if head office gets my trainee paperwork before registrations close) so that should help a bit with the new release. I spoke with my mentor today and she thinks I should work towards getting a few of the current release tracks done (IE I'm working from track 5 through the rest of the back half), get that nailed, then start on the new stuff. I don't think we're launching as a club for a few weeks after the release so that should give me a bit of time.

Did my first class today as a trainee, taught the one track I know and nailed it... such an awesome feeling!

Great stuff.

Assume you did your track 5

I'm currently booked for the 7pm session on the 5th, but a mate of mine wants me to shift to the 6pm session. I'm a little reluctant as I don't know where I'll be working on that day.

I think that Lee is taking the 5pm and 6pm sessions, did Lee take your training?

Cool. I'm booked for 7pm, so give me a wave as your leaving.

I recommend that you purchase every available RPM release now, as once they run out of stock, you can no longer buy them.

thats gonna haveta wait until payday - although according to the website only 42 and 44 are available as a past release. Looks like my classes are just gonna have to deal with modern mixes for a while!

You picked a perfect time to do your training as release 46 is one of the easiest to learn and its going to be popular with the participants. Which tracks are you going to learn first for team teaching?
