Does anyone have any recommendation for good books or other resources on weight training to help me be a better instructor?
I've been teaching Pump for nearly a year now. I have GEL, not Cert 3 (yet... when I can find the time!) but I'd like to spend some time getting a deeper understanding of weight training and how it's all working down at the muscular level.

I can't recommend any books, but all I can suggest is be careful and open minded when you do read them. Many of those books are written by body builders and may be more geared towards getting maximum muscle growth, rather than the most beneficial exercises for weight loss (as an example). There's a lot of differences in opinion in the industry aswell, and body builders still continue to use what are now considered unsafe exercises.
Personally, I think one of the best ways of getting more, practical knowledge is to get regular training sessions with a good Personal Trainer that knows his stuff. Perhaps a more costly option, but worth it if you get a good one...........and if you ever decide to become a PT yourself, the experience will definately pay off.
