The Muay Thai inspired BODYCOMBAT® 42 transports the class to Bangkok! This release will take you on a Martial Arts journey, from Karate and Tae kwon do to the boxing ring. Fight your way through and hope you’ve got enough left in the tank for the epic Muay Thai onslaught that is Track 7! Sing along to Kelly Clarkson’s I Do Not Hook Up while warming up with Side, Front and Roundhouse Kicks. Then get ready for Karate and Tae kwon do in a battle of Martial Arts in Track 2! Find out how fit you really are in Track 3. Boxing is the name of the game in six rounds of interval training. You are in the ring and you don’t stop! Watch out for the new move in Track 4 – the Sweep will knock your opponent out of the way and work your inner thighs at the same time. The class splits into two groups for some social interaction, fighting style, before you’re whisked away to Brazil. You will be practicing the art of defense and attack in authentic Capoeira to The Prodigy’s Warrior’s Dance. Now, what we’ve all been waiting for – eight minutes of Muay Thai! This track will transport you to a dark fight club in Thailand and push your heart rate to unknown heights. It would be a Miracle if you could do the last Power Training Track with the same energy you started with. Your speed and endurance are certainly tested in this track.
Like what you do.

My wife asked one instructor what the music was like for BC42 and she said she played the CD / DVD once and said all she could think of was Body Attack because apparently a lot of the tracks are remixes of old BA tracks?
Our Monday night instructor was telling me about it and he ratttled off several track / song names, and yes some are BA tracks (probably remixed for BC) and 2 tracks are songs that have already been used in earlier BC releases!!
I don't think I am allowed to name the tracks yet am I?
He said it is Muay Thai Based & that I will love it. (I've told him before that Muay Thai tracks are my favourite!)
I will wait until I've done the release a few times before passing judgement on it O:)

I'm a bit the same Nick. I've seen the tracklist for BC42 and listened to some of the music. I tend to wait for the chorey and watch the DVD before passing judgement myself. Songs become so different when moves are put into them. And then the moves + music take on a new life when you watch Dan and Rach put the 'soul' into them :-D

Lucky you! I met them at FILEX and they are so lovely! Rach is my instructor 'hero', love the way she communicates and connects with people. She has really brought my instructing a long way. There is absolutely no 'airs or graces' with either of them, they take the time to talk to you and assist you in any way. You will LOVE their class!!

It's a very old Scooter Track - it was released as a single in 1998!

As for track 6 - Prodigy, interesting chorey but really effective. Needs very good cuing skills I think.
That's right, its Combat 3 not Combat 2...
The important thing from what I've noticed is demoing the turns before hand
And counting out the back steps

I agree with scott about the lower body warmup... don't like Kelly Clarkson' music at all
T2 - the music was really really cheesy (Scooter meets KISS) but good chorry
T3 - old BA track, but I loved the chorry
T4 - good track from memory - interesting new move 'the sweep'
T5 - was short and sweet - didn't find it too challenging at all
T6 - didn't really 'get' it.. a couple of regulars said in the mens locker room afterwards that it was a strange track and was too slow... even the instructor said the following night she thought the track needs a lot of 'work' and is hard to teach / cue.
T7 - insane... totally insane... only did it once, but will look forward to doing it again
T8 - I was initially annoyed with this track because I am so used to associating the track / song with Body Pump (it'a back track), but the chorry was so good, I soon got over it and went hard out
haven't done T9 / 10 yet but when I've done the whole thing I will do a full review...

Hey Nick, thanks for the review :-D
My 'take' on T6 is; when we get a bit used to the track, we'll be going deeper into the legs and working the range of movement (wide into the Gingas). It will then be an absolute leg killer when we go straight into the Muay Thai. At least, that's what I felt at the workshop.
I've had another good look at the track, it reminds me of the turning front kick in BC32. Took a lot of precision in the cueing, but when everyone is following and 'getting' it, it's absolute magic. So am going to spend time scripting this one well, and really practicing so I don't have to be concious of which leg is moving forward on the turn.
Am liking the "sweep". Bit different to the "sweep" I know in Muay Thai, but heck, we use real opponents/and/or kickpads to execute the move. Can't see that happening in BC
Haven't looked at T5, T8, T9 or T10 yet.
