I've been offered to train in BodyCombat, however, I'm torn between that or BodyStep. Based on your experience, which classes seem to get more response or is bigger - BodyStep or BodyCombat?

Ok, need to be honest, Combat Instructor here and I'm not a fan of step.

BUT... from what I can tell the programs seem to be appeal to very very different markets and the classes have a different feel to them.

Which class is bigger is going to depend on your gym. I know of a gym on the other side of adelaide that can't get more than 5-6 people in their combat class and have only 1 per week. The gym I work at runs 4 combat classes per week... numbers range from 15 through to 40 and they can't get enough.

My advice for you is don't worry about which one is bigger, which ones gets more responses or fills more classes and instead ask yourself which program you like more?

Oh and enjoy your combat training.... heheheheh :D/

I agree with Shane, go with the one you want most.

I don't think the appeal between the 2 is that different in terms of numbers. Definitely different in terms of who you'll get.

I'd say at the gyms I've worked in, Step has more attendees than Combat, but 1 Fernwood is the other way around.
If you plan to teach morning classes, I'd say Step. Night times you may have more luck getting Combat classes.

Have you looked at the gyms in your area?

Teach the program that you are better at and/or have the passion for. Teaching a class just for how popular it might be is, in the long run not going to be a big enough motivator.

As the others said, teach what you REALLY want to do.
