The blog on the LM website talks about the latest round of filmings (that we won't see till early 2009) and it doesn't have Jackie listed as presenting BodyBalance.

I hope it was a one off. Or maybe I just read it wrong. Anyone know for sure?

Maybe it's just assumed Jackie is presenting? I hope so Balance isn't the same without her :(

I heard on PJ's blog that she had to plan a wedding so she was busy (probably didn't have time to rehearse etc).

It is a post by Susan and she mentions all the other PDs. It actually says "Emma Barry leads BodyBalance..."

Seems she will be absent. I look forward to her return on the following one, whatever release that will be. 45?

My understanding is that her daughter is / was getting married and so Jackie's focus was solely on her and the event at hand. As it should be...
Perhaps as a treat Jackie will re-unite with Dave and Anita on 45???

OK, the secret is out. Where are the pcitures of Jackie's girl's weddings?!

And, what happened to Dave and Anita? Were they together before? Sorry for my ignorance but they two happens to be my favoriate presenters, calm, powerful and elegant.

After launched the BB44 for a week, can I ask should we still guide students in the meditation part with all body parts? I found the results are deminishing or deterioriating as they are getting bored after a couple of times.....

What would you suggest?

You don't ever have to follow the relaxation/meditation script exactly as it is. You can use it if you like, or you can get ideas from it, or you can do what feels right for you and your class.

It it doesn't feel like it is working - don't do it. :)

I know that I now teach Balance, but speaking from a participant point of view, I just wanted instructors to lead me into the relaxation part, with breath and body position, and then just be quiet.

Nothing annoys me more than instructors yak, yak, yakking all the way through the relaxation music. It makes me want to go out and gun down a dolphin.

Yes, great meditation and all that, but please, I have people (esp children) talking AT me alllll day. I want PEACE for 10mins!

I love my Balance trainer, she told us to set up, and then shut up.

agreed Placebo...........that's a formula that always works :)

Sometimes I have occassionally done a completely silent meditation, I let them know beforehand that I'm doing something different. I don't usually try this if there are newbies in the class, but it's great to try out if you've got a cold. Surprisingly, members always tell me they prefer if I talk for a bit..........I honestly can't understand that, I would have thought they'd be sick of me talking (especially at the rate I talk!).

As for BB44, can't comment yet, cuz although I went to the workshop last weekend, I haven't yet started learning this release.......and in this country they're pretty casual about releases........they won't be launching until April 1st (which is my birthday incidently)!!

Oh, you should totally make your class wear Birthday hats Mel!! (I can't be the only person who does this can I?)

I think I might try a silent meditation. I have done a few with very minimal talking when I have had no microphone.
I think some of the long time balancers would really like it. I have done an extended relaxation and everyone loved it.
Mind you, I did an extra long class before hand so maybe they were just dead.

haha, I'll have to ask whether doing something like that is an appropriate custom in the Netherlands. :)
You can never be too careful.........people view things differently and I never know what impression they might get if I do something weird. What might be considered funny and cute in Australia might be taken totally differently!

I decided to try the whole meditation. As a member I was the participant that wanted the instructor to just be quite, but I thought I should at least try this one. The feedback has been that the members love it. They find it really helps them to relax totally. I will stick with it for another week or two. After that they may be over it. The music on its on in this release is a little quiet. Not sure if I will keep it or mix to something with a little more sound.

If I'm not mistaken, it says on the BB44 DVD that it was choreographed by Jackie and Diana Mills and in the DVD Emma congratulates Diana on her upcoming wedding....so, am I correct that Diana is Jackie's daughter who co-choreographed this release? It would be lovely to see Jackie and her daughter present on a future video. Like mother handing over the baton to the daughter. Anyone know anything about Diana Mills?

know don't really know anything about Jackie Mills daughter. I know she has a son that was doing his pump training back when I last spoke to her (in 2007). He was around 16 years old and they were really enthusiastic for him. The next pump choreographer perhaps? :)
