I gave BV a fair trial (around 8 classes) and got almost nothing from it. Couldn't even work up a sweat in the cardio section (I did try very hard to do so). I found the rest of the program after the 25min cardio very 'bitty' with too many transitions between balance, tai chi, resistance etc.

I am in the target age group for BV (65) but find it an almost total waste of time. I love all the other classes I do (one BA, 3 Pump, 3 Balance, 3 RPM and one Cycle per week). I have exercised for as long as I can remember (way back before g-strings and lycra even), and remember the days of 'exercise to music' in community centre halls, etc.

I would LOVE to hear what other participants think of the program.

I was interested in trying BV, but the feedback I got from several instructors was that I was not suitable for it, as I'm way too fit for it.

I'm guessing that this may be the case for you Penny, even though your 65, ie within the target age range, because you are extremely fit, you exceed the boundary's of the target demographic.

However if you enjoy doing it, then why not see it as a supplement to your existing training.

I do 14 classes per week and probably would do more if there were more hours in the week.

I love all of my awesome instructors, who make all of the classes so much fun.

My goal is to one day train as a Combat and / or Jam instructor.

My favourite saying is 'Go hard or go home'

Try doing Vive straight after Pump.

Me and my husband recently gave in to the gym manager to kept asking us to come to his Vive class and went along and tried it (i am 31 and my husband is 42). We did Vive straight after pump and although the cardio section of Vive was not at all difficult, when it came to using the tube (or what ever it is called) it was actuallty quite tough on the muscles and if you really squeeze the ball in all of the tracks you really feel it in your arms and shoulders.

Oh and just to add...my husband and I do 11 other classes per week (which include combat, pump, boxercise and Jam) so we also are very fit but still found Vive tough straight after pump.

I've only ever done it a couple of times, and I can see a need for this type of program, but honestly if you are as fit as you are it isn't for you. If you were in the target age group and doing it for the first time, and trying to get into an exercise regime, then it would be a different matter. If you are doing it with a view to teaching it then you need to be able to stand back and think about who it is aimed at. If you are doing it for yourself, then like I said, as fit as you are, it isn't for you.

I'm the GFM at my gym. Over the course of any given week I will teach at least: 2 Balance classes, 3 RPM classes, 3 Attack classes, 1 Pump class, and 3 Vive classes. I'm a young(ish) guy at 24, and I would consider myself fit - but I still get hot and sweaty from Vive. Definatly still needing a change of t-shirt after the class! lol

I still enjoy *most* of Vive. (I hate the latest release!) I agree, the resistance work with the tubes can be really challenging. So can the ab work. I do see some people struggling with it though so it's an awesome class to get you started. I wouldn't mind it if they got rid of the ball, lost the 'latin dance' part and concentrated on more cardio. Oh, and lose the Village People- forever! ;)
