Hi there,

The manager at my gym keeps asking me and my husband to start doing body jam (we do severeal other classes and he thinks that we might enjoy Jam).

Just wondering really whether Jam is fairly easy to learn and how many classes it usually takes newbie's before they get the hang of it. I have done a few of the Jam launches at my gym and just couldnt get the hang of a lot of the moves.

Try doing a release several times. Most people don't get the hang of it until a few classes down the road, but that's part of the challenge and they still have a great time trying.
Incredible!

I think it is like any class - if you do it a few times, you will start to get the hang of the moves...etc....

It also depends on the release itself. Some releases seem easier than others. It can also depend on the style. Some people may do really well with hip hop, but struggle with Latin. That's the beauty of Jam-you are exposed to all different types of dance, which is what keeps it so fresh. The choreography is not always easy, but G is a master of having the dance really fit the music. Try it-you'll probably love it. I do-enough to sit through 2 trainings and now I can instruct HOORAY!

I guess in about 3 times you'll get the hang of it and be hooked :D

Well yesterday (after a lot of nagging from the women in my gym) I finally did Jam.......and it was fun!!
Had a little trouble with the hands in the first track, but from the linedance thingy and so on it went really well.
The last time I danced so intense is probably 10 years back. The class is for everybody but it does help if you already have a feel for dancing.
The instructor even noticed I had some hip hop moves in me. If you decide to go, just turn on the menthal-switch and go all out. It's more fun that way....at least for me

My husband and i finally took the plunge last night and tried Jam and we both loved it. I spent pretty much the whole class with a big cheesy grin on my face. Didnt do too badly with following the moves, although my arms did move in the wrong direction quite often. Will definitely be doing Jam again (tomorrow night actually  ). I have to admit i was geared up not to like it cos a lot of people at my gym have been complaining that they dont like the music (or the chorr) for BJ 45 but i actually really liked it. Yet another class to add to my weekly list.

Think BJam is great but really wish that they had technique classes.
My body just doesn't groove that well so I need all the help I can get. Usually skip arm lines when I first see a routine. Really wish you LM would allow instructors preview DVDS from other programs. Things like body rolls etc need practice!

Ok, so i'm just wondering why nobody at my gym (apart from the Manager) ever told me how much fun and how addictive Body Jam is :-k . I have only done the class 3 times and i think i am actually addicted already  .
