(Disclaimer: I'm not here to promote any particular shoe brand)

What shoes do you wear for BodyJam, especially male instructors?

My Nike Air Edge L7 cross-trainer was great, but the padding has worn out and I'm looking out for another shoe! I'm thinking of Nike Reax Train II but I can't find ones with my size.

I know Nike Air Force 1's are very popular among male Jammers, but I teach other freestyle cardio programs and AF1 is unsuitable for those classes (no flexibility!).

Girls definitely have more choices when it comes to dancing shoes! Just love the boots worn in 45 DVD!

So guys, what shoes do you wear? I'm not a devout fan of Nike, just that over here it's hard to find cross-trainers in alternative brands.

Thanks!

I would love to find out what Gandalf and the boys were wearing in 45!!! I have tons of shoes for Jam and I switch them out. I'm a girl, but I have nike dunk, jordans, and a pair of eckos that I love, especially for releases heavy in hiphop. You're right-they wouldn't work for other cardio workouts-like step or attack, but they just look soooo cool I had to have them. I have the nike shox q vida, and a couple of split soled shoes made by Sansha, which work good for the latin blocks. I hate to admit, I'm getting quite obsessive about the whole thing--pretty soon I'm going to have to open a shoe store just so I can get a discount!! I've heard Nike Free are really good. I always look for either a smooth sole, or at the very least a spin spot so I can pivot and make quick turns as needed.
