New Forum Logo

Well, it's not really a competition as such, but it's a fun sharing of ideas. Help us develop a new logo for this website!

Currently the forum logo for Groupfitness.org is going through a redesign. Well actually, it's never been designed in the first place, so I guess there's no "re" about it! For those who know, this forum had origins as btstalk.com and we moved to this site when the Les Mills weren't really strictly "BTS" anymore.

So we need a logo. I've thought about concepts for years, I've enquired about paying to get one designed and while throwing around some ideas I've decided to put out this invite to you guys to show us some of your
ideas of what you think the groupfitness.org logo should look like.

Guidelines

Some guidelines for creating the logo, but by no means restricted to this:

• Logo preferably needs to have a global/international feel
• Bright energetic colours - fitness should inspire positive energy
• No copyrighted items ie. Please do not include any Les Mills copyrights
• Needs to have a colour theme or feel that could then be the basis for a template for the entire site
• Consider how the logo might be when resized or on different materials. Needs to be relatively simple to be able to be reproduced on different merchandise. Take this into consideration when choosing colours.

File formats: jpg, gif or png formats plus original source file (Photoshop or Illustrator file) if possible (this may depend on your upload restrictions depending on current membership)
File size: Bronze/Silver members limited to 100kb per attachment, Gold members can upload up to 500kb. Please consider your file size though as the final logo needs to be displayed on this website and therefore needs to be resizable to a small file size.
Resolution: Maximum 500 x 500 pixels

How to use this forum

To keep it simple to follow, each logo suggestion needs to be submitted as a "New Topic". If you have a similar logo using a similar concept, but maybe with only minor differences or colour changes, then please post in the same topic. Then all users can comment on your logo and you can feel free to make any changes and reupload the logo to the same thread.

All logos must be uploaded using the forum "Attachment" system. When you start a New Topic you'll see the option to be able to upload a file. All Bronze Memberships now include 200kb upload space (new members on a Basic Membership only need to make 10 posts for a free upgrade to Bronze). Please do not use hotlinks to external sites. This is against the forum rules.

As a gift for participating, all members who submit any work will receive a 1 month FREE Silver Membership subscription. This will not only give you a chance to try out a subscription, but will also give you further upload space to show more of your work.

Voting on each logo

The Administrators may choose to start a poll on some of the most popular logos.

However you can also rate a logo by clicking on the "Ratings" button within a topic. If you don't have any ideas to submit, you may still contribute by using this ratings system.

Free Silver Membership

The 1 month FREE Silver Membership offer will end on 31 March 2008, unless withdrawn earlier. Contributers will only receive 1 month free maximum regardless of the number of logos submitted. Ideas submitted may or may not be used and is at the discretion of the Administrators. Competition may be withdrawn earlier if a final concept and design is decided prior to 31 March.
